The Egyptians thought themselves the first to invent the cure of diseases' Papyri have been found which contain many medical prescriptions for a variety of diseases, viz., those of the stomach, for broken bones, for the eye"-, for sores, and for various other ills, and even to keep away fleas and reptiles.
